Project Summary
Through a partnership with the Sigma Iota chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, ETR seeks to develop a sexual health module with follow-up support to be implemented as part of the Omega Gents mentoring program through the Sigma Iota Chapter. Omega Gents is a well-established mentoring program for African American young men, which was designed and is implemented by members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the largest black fraternity in the country. This project presents an innovative approach by weaving pregnancy prevention into structured mentoring to address sexual health in tangent with other important social determinants, such as academic success and connectedness to school and a caring adult.
This program weaves teen pregnancy prevention into structured mentoring to address sexual health in tangent with focusing on other important social determinants that are not typically addressed in TPP programs, such as academic success and connectedness to school and a caring adult.
