Oregon School-Based Health Alliance
Youth Action Council Coaching Program
Project Summary
A collaborative youth-adult coaching model to create more powerful and effective Youth Action Councils (YACs) at school-based health centers (SBHCs). YACs are student-led groups that work in close collaboration with the SBHCs and high schools. YACs identify and lead projects to promote the health of students in their school community and advise the SBHCs and high schools on student health needs and concerns. OSBHA staff and youth members each bring different experiences and knowledge of youth-adult partnerships, along with what has worked and what hasn’t. Working together as coaches, our team can provide guidance to YAC adult coordinators and youth members to help them create powerful and impactful YACs.
